For this compact 350 sqft 1-bedroom unit in New Westminster, the objective was to remove the worn-out laminate and install a fresh, modern laminate. However, the true focus of this project was addressing the uneven concrete foundation to ensure the new floor would look and perform flawlessly.
The Challenge
After efficiently tearing out the old laminate flooring, our team inspected the bare concrete underneath. It became immediately apparent that the original concrete subfloor was significantly uneven in several high-traffic areas. Installing new laminate directly over these dips and bumps would inevitably lead to hollow sounds, squeaking, and eventually, separation of the floor joints. A professional leveling intervention was mandatory.
