A perfectly flat subfloor is the most critical foundation for any successful flooring installation. At Elite Flooring, we provide specialized floor leveling and subfloor preparation services across Greater Vancouver. Whether you are dealing with sagging plywood in an older character home or uneven concrete in a modern high-rise condo, installing new hardwood, LVP, or laminate over an uneven surface will inevitably lead to squeaks, buckling, or broken click-lock joints. We eliminate these risks before they even happen.
Our comprehensive leveling process utilizes advanced laser measurements to identify high spots and dips with pinpoint accuracy. Depending on your specific needs, we expertly grind down concrete high points, secure loose plywood to eliminate squeaks, or pour high-quality self-leveling underlayment to create a flawlessly smooth, structurally sound base. Proper leveling not only guarantees a stunning final look but also protects your flooring warranty and ensures decades of quiet, stable use.

Frequently Asked Questions
If the subfloor is uneven, your new flooring will eventually fail. Hardwood can buckle, laminate will sound hollow, and the locking mechanisms on LVP will snap. Leveling is the essential foundation for a lasting floor.
For concrete subfloors, we use heavy-duty floor grinders to reduce high spots and apply premium self-leveling concrete compounds to fill in dips, creating a perfectly smooth and flat surface.
Absolutely. Squeaks are caused by loose plywood rubbing against joists. Before any leveling compound goes down, we drive specialized subfloor screws into the joists to secure the wood and eliminate the noise.
Most high-quality self-leveling compounds we use are walkable within 3 to 4 hours. However, depending on the thickness of the pour and humidity, we usually wait 24 to 48 hours before installing the final flooring over it.
Carpet is very forgiving and usually doesn't require perfectly level floors. However, severe dips or large cracks should still be patched to prevent them from being felt through the carpet pad.
Pouring self-leveling compound can raise the floor height slightly (usually 1/8 to 1/2 inch). We carefully calculate this beforehand and can undercut doors or adjust baseboard placements to ensure a perfect fit.
